Our origin
The story behind Sqedi Mandatory
Sqedi Mandatory started with more than an idea to create clothing. It started with a mindset.
A belief that no matter how much pressure life puts on you, you still have a choice in how you respond. You can choose positivity over pressure. You can choose discipline over distraction. You can keep moving forward.
That belief became the foundation of Sqedi Mandatory.
Born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, the brand began with small runs of clothing and a simple purpose: to create pieces that people could wear while carrying a message that meant something beyond fashion.
“Sqedi” represents positivity choosing to see possibility even when circumstances make it difficult. “Mandatory” represents discipline the understanding that progress requires consistency, focus and showing up even when you don't feel like it.

Founder of Sqedi Mandatory
I never wanted Sqedi Mandatory to be just another clothing brand.
I wanted to build something that carries a message something that reminds people that pressure will always exist, distractions will always be there, but the way you respond to them is still your choice.
To me, Sqedi Mandatory represents choosing positivity when things get difficult and having the discipline to keep moving even when motivation isn't there.
When you wear Sqedi, I want you to feel like you're wearing more than a name on a piece of clothing. I want it to remind you of what you stand for, where you're going, and the person you're working to become.
The clothes are part of it, but the mindset is what makes Sqedi Mandatory what it is.
